Our Mission
Youth Opportunities Development (YOD) provides consistent, year-round support to help young people in Clairton thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We create a safe and structured environment where youth can learn, explore new interests, build healthy relationships, and develop confidence.
Our Vision
We envision a community where every young person has the guidance, opportunities, and support they need to reach their full potential in school, life, and in their future careers.
Our Approach
Daily Consistency
YOD operates five days per week, offering academic lessons, tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment activities that build healthy habits and strong routines.
Long-Term Relationships
Many youth stay with YOD for 5+ years. This long-term connection allows staff to provide personalized guidance, celebrate progress, and support youth through key stages of development.
Academic and Social Support
We collaborate closely with families, teachers, and community partners to help youth improve academically, make positive decisions, and strengthen social and emotional skills.
Meaningful Experiences
Educational field trips, summer activities, cultural lessons, and real-world learning opportunities broaden horizons and build confidence.
